I know Ive seen video edited at a variable speed with audio that stays in sync at the same pattern of variation. HTML5 video provides native APIs to accelerate playback of any video, but most implemented players either hide or limit this functionality. My video does just fine when its speed is made variable, but the audio will only play at a constant speed.
